The area surrounding Columbus, Georgia offers a wide variety of field trips in many areas of interest. This wiki project demonstrates the value of gathering data from field trip destinations for a grade level, school, or an entire school district. Storing all the contact information and other relevant data on a site that is accessible to all teachers would save hours of preparation time over the years. Assigning editing rights to designated people for each page would ensure up-to-date information and allow for quick review when planning.
Each participant in this wiki group chose one area of interest and provided the information for four outstanding examples of what is available. This is in no way an exhaustive presentation, but it could certainly be the foundation for one.
